the opportunity to go for several walks around the local

Easter weekend and thousands of visitors will be
coming to the peak district national park, but just
below the top of Longstone Edge I met only four
people in two hours.

It's a mystery how the gorse bushes thrive on the

stoney south facing Longstone Edge.

The gorse bushes are in bloom in the spring sunshine.

bloom. The village of Great Longstone is just the same
as always, nestling below Longstone Edge.

this pleasant area from the centre of the village.

I was in Bakewell and had half an hour to spare
so I got my camera and walked along the river.
The pictures are not very original but they show
the amount of bird life on the river in the Autumn
